October is the month Dubai becomes liveable outdoors again. The first half is still summer — high thirties, humid — and somewhere around the third week it breaks, dropping to the low thirties by day and mid-twenties at night. The last ten days of October are the best value in the calendar: season weather at shoulder prices.

The heat drops gradually but the humidity breaks suddenly. Through early October, daytime temperatures still reach the high thirties and the humidity makes an evening on a deck genuinely uncomfortable. Then, usually somewhere in the third week, it shifts within a few days.
After that: low thirties by day, mid-twenties at night, and the first evenings of the year where sitting outside is the obvious thing to do rather than an endurance. Residents notice it within about forty-eight hours and the restaurant terraces fill up.
Sea temperature lags air temperature by about a month, so October water is still holding summer heat — around 30°C, which is the warmest genuinely comfortable swimming of the year. In January it drops to about 21°C, which is swimmable but a shock for the first few minutes.
That combination — comfortable air, warm water — makes late October the best swim-stop month on a charter. May is its mirror image and equally good.
Peak-season demand does not arrive with the weather; it arrives with the school holidays and the northern-hemisphere winter, which is November onward. So for roughly two weeks the weather is season-standard while the boats, the tables and the hotel rates are still shoulder.
In practice that means a weekend sunset charter can be booked a few days ahead instead of three weeks, and there is real room to negotiate a longer charter. Both of those disappear in November.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge runs through late October into November and puts a lot of temporary running and cycling infrastructure along the waterfront, including on the Marina promenade and Kite Beach.
Fishing charters restart properly as the water begins to cool, and October is the easiest month of the season to get a Saturday boat. The kingfish are not fully in yet, but the availability more than compensates for a first trip.
