Palm Jumeirah
Palm Jumeirah boat and yacht tours
A Palm Jumeirah boat tour runs about three hours from Dubai Marina and costs from AED 2,250 for a boat carrying twelve. You get the Atlantis frontage, the length of the crescent, and the sheltered water behind it, which is the best swim stop on this stretch of coast.

The Palm reads better from the water than from the top of any tower. From a boat you see the scale of it — the trunk, the fronds, the crescent closing the whole thing off — and you get close enough to Atlantis and the Royal Atlantis to see people on the balconies. Neither building is approachable by road in the same way.
The practical reason to go is the water. The crescent breaks the swell, so inside it the sea is flat almost every day of the year. That makes it where we anchor for swimming, and why families with small children end up on the Palm route rather than heading out to the World Islands.
We leave from Dubai Marina; there is no separate Palm Jumeirah departure. The run down is twenty minutes at cruising speed, past JBR and the Bluewaters channel, so nothing about the journey is dead time.

What is included
- Atlantis and Royal Atlantis frontage at slow speed for photographs
- The full length of the crescent, inside and out
- Anchoring and a swim stop in flat water behind the crescent
- Snorkels, floating mats and a low boarding ladder
- Crew who know which side of the Palm is sheltered on the day
Worth knowing
- Boats may not land on the Palm; this is a cruise-and-swim route, not a drop-off.
- Atlantis Aquaventure and the Palm hotels are not included and cannot be accessed from the water.
- Winter mornings are the flattest. Summer afternoons get a sea breeze that makes the outside of the crescent lumpy.

Palm and Atlantis loop
3 hours
Marina, JBR, down the outside of the crescent to Atlantis, then back inside the lagoon. One swim stop of about forty minutes.
Palm and swim day
4 hours
The same route with the anchor down for most of it. Lunch onboard, snorkelling, and no schedule to keep.
Palm at sunset

FAQ
Questions people ask
- How long is a boat tour of Palm Jumeirah?
- Three hours is the usual length from Dubai Marina — about twenty minutes down, an hour and a half around the Palm with a swim stop, and twenty minutes back. Two hours is possible but leaves no time to anchor.
- How much does a Palm Jumeirah boat tour cost?
- From AED 2,250 for a three-hour private charter on a 48ft yacht carrying up to 12 guests, including crew, fuel and marina fees. Larger boats run from AED 3,150 for the same three hours.
- Can you see Atlantis from a boat?
- Yes. The route runs along the outside of the crescent directly in front of Atlantis The Palm and the Royal Atlantis, close enough for clear photographs. Boats cannot dock there, so it is a pass rather than a stop.
- Is the water calm enough to swim at the Palm?
- Almost always. The crescent acts as a breakwater, so the water inside it stays flat when the open sea is choppy. It is the stop we choose for families and for anyone nervous about swimming off a boat.
- Do Palm Jumeirah tours leave from the Palm itself?
- No. Our boats berth in Dubai Marina and the run to the Palm is part of the charter. There is no boarding point on the Palm for private charters.
